This tall and narrow painting, titled “Winding Upwards” depicts a tall and twisty tree reaching far into the sunny sky above.

This painting was inspired by an interesting tree I saw on one of many Pacific Northwest hiking trails. It is the perfect tree for such a tall and narrow wood panel.

The sun in the background bursts through the leaves and branches. Throughout the painting, leaves are lit up in bright yellow where the sun touches them.

The branches of this mighty tree follow a winding, meandering path up into the sky.

There is no need to frame this painting, as the image wraps around the edges of the panel.

The interesting shapes formed by the negative spaces between the tree branches will have you getting lost in the details of this painting as it hangs on the wall.
