Joey at Home. 12" x 16", Oil on Canvas, © 2019 Cedar Lee
This dog portrait is called “Joey at Home.” Joey is a beloved doggo in my extended family.
I love how this painting captures Joey’s sweet expression and the intelligence in his eyes!
It is called “Joey at Home” because in this scene, he is relaxing in a warm, cozy, bright home, lying on his colorful blanket, in full comfort and happiness, smiling up at the person he loves.
Joey is an old dog now. I had the honor of painting his portrait when he was a puppy back in 2008, too. Here’s that portrait, called “Joey in the Sun.”
Even though he looks very different now in his old age, you can see the exact same expression in his eyes in both paintings.
