Here is my latest painting, “Starlight.”

The glowing luminescent light of this distant blue supergiant washes over the whole sky.

I had a lot of fun painting this one!

Here are a couple close-up detail shots. You can see here how textured the paint is. I got this effect by using very thick paint applied with a palette knife. The colors are just gorgeous in person.

The brilliant blue star itself might be my favorite part. I love how the rays of light shooting downwards turn to squiggly lines. I did that on a whim and I love how that part turned out.
