This painting, inspired by the beautiful streets of Portland, Oregon in the spring, is 30″ x 60″, acrylic on wood, titled “Spring Puddles.”
There is a particular gravel pathway along one of my regular walks that made me want to paint this image.
In the springtime, this row of trees is full of showy white blossoms, and after a rain, the pathway fills up with puddles, which my dog loves.
This extremely large-scale painting is made to fill a big wall with joyful color!
The background is full of warm pink, orange, and yellow tones, the warm sun lighting everything up.
Some of the branches in the bright sky are still bare.
The tall green trees in the background are full of life.
The painting wraps around the edges of the wood panel.
There is something special about walking the beautiful neighborhood streets when everything is in full bloom, everything is fresh and clean after a spring rain, and the sunshine is reflecting off the surfaces of puddles.
This painting gives you a window into this joyful feeling of being outdoors in the springtime, lighting up any interior space.
