This painting, “Metallic Trees 3,” combines acrylic paint pouring techniques alongside intentional brushwork to highlight the interesting forms of tree branches and roots inherent in the randomness of the poured paint.
These paintings, while they have a distinctive look and a life of their own, are reminiscent of my earlier Tree of Life series.
The metallic color palette creates a fantasy world of golden skies.
In some area, I add translucent brushstrokes on top of the poured paint, creating many layers.
