These four green nature paintings are 36″ x 12″, the perfect size for hanging on a narrow wall in your home.
Fresh, green, and full of life, this art will bring the beauty of nature indoors.
This painting is called “Alder Leaves.”
The distinctive leaves of the alder tree, which is native to the Pacific Northwest, are lit up by the bright sun.
The sun coming through the leaves adds bright yellow colors into the center of the painting.
Pleasing abstract shapes in different shades of green overlap and give the impression of light and shadow dancing in the tree canopy on a summer day.
This painting is called “Big Leaf Maple in Fall.”
I was inspired to paint the big leaf maple leaves along the trails in Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, Oregon.
In the fall, the leaves of the big leaf maples turn a neon yellow color.
Because these leaves can be as big as a dinner plate, it is a dramatic sight indeed!
This painting is called “Bamboo Dreams.”
This painting was inspired by a bamboo forest I visited near Manoa Falls on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
The most beautiful thing about the painting is the way the light sparkles and twinkles as it shines through the thick forest of bamboo stalks.
At the top of the painting, the ends of the bamboo disappear into the hot sunshine that fills the sky.
This painting is called “Sunlit Rhododendron: White.”
This is a variation on the theme of my earlier painting “Sunlit Rhododendron.”
In this painting, the pattern of the green rhododendron leaves is backlit by a brilliant white sky.
Hints of yellow and blue in the background hint at faraway greenery that is out-of-focus.
The overlapping leaves backlit by the sun cast dark green shadows on each other.
