Glittering Leaves

This 24″ x 48″ acrylic painting, entitled “Glittering Leaves,” shows the forest lit up in sunlight, the colors sparkling like jewels.

The leaves of the tree in the foreground drape across the canvas, creating a dramatic canopy that makes the viewer feel like they are standing there under the trees.

Some of the leaves are a dazzling white, filled with bright sunlight.

In the background, the sun bursts from behind a pair of tall tree trunks, turning them a warm orange. Thin branches in the path of the sunburst shine white. There is a dancing, flowing movement throughout as branches reach and weave. The millions of little tree leaves are like gemstones filling the space with their shifting glimmers of light.

In the shadows, the leaves are a rich emerald green, the tree trunks nearly black.

This high contrast, colorful art is made more dramatic by its large scale!
