Here is a new cosmic/space painting for you: Blue Diamonds!
After I painted this, the clusters of brilliant stars looked so much like sparkling jewels to me that I started singing “Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are…up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky…” and a title was born.
My favorite part of this painting is the way the tendrils of atmospheric color in the center float down in spirals, like the slow-moving stream of smoke from burning incense, or steam coming off a hot cup of tea.
I love how this image is stimulating and calming at the same time–it’s the feeling I often get from the night sky in general.
