Here are 8 new paintings just completed, the newest additions to my abstract “Metallic Trees” series!
Metallic Trees 7
In Metallic Trees 7, it feels like the winding black tree in the center is merging with the environment around it.

The shapes throughout can evoke different imagery: Are the small round objects leaves, or fruits on the branches of the trees?

Or are they stars glittering in an otherworldly sky?

There is a feeling of movement throughout, as if the shapes are swaying and morphing before our eyes.

The original painting is 6″ x 6″ on a wood panel.

Besides the original painting, prints are available, and you can order a print in a size much larger than the small original!

Metallic Trees 8
Metallic Trees 8 shows two trees reaching towards each other, and the shape created by the empty space between them.

The white and gray colors in the background bring to mind cloudy, cold weather. With the bare branches of the trees, it looks like a winter scene.

The three yellow circles at the bottom reinforce the connection between the two trees. Something about them feels symbolic. It makes you think about the root systems of the trees sharing the same earth.

The original painting is 6″ x 6″.

You can order prints of this image in sizes much larger than the original!

Metallic Trees 9
Metallic Trees 9 is extremely abstract.

This focus of this painting is on the overlapping shapes, and the way the light golden colors glow alongside the more muted bronze and black.

I see the nebulous shapes of two trees with thick trunks: a silver tree on the left, and a bronze tree on the right.

It is an interesting image to get lost in, and different people may see different imagery in the shapes!

The original painting is 6″ x 6″.

This abstract piece looks striking as an art reproduction at a larger scale!

Metallic Trees 10
Metallic Trees 10, heavy on the black, is a moody painting.

The dark shapes of the tree trunks and branches are back-lit by a golden glowing light.

The trees themselves seem old and gnarled.

For me, this image evokes a wild place during nighttime. The feeling gives a slight thrill!

The original painting is 6″ x 6″.

An art reproduction of this painting at a much larger scale looks very dramatic!

Metallic Trees 11
Metallic Trees 11 shows a stand of trees with dense foliage, all close together and growing out of the dark ground.

The details in the trees are beautiful. It looks almost like the trees may be in bloom with bright flowers!

The light background of the painting wraps around the deep edges of the wood panel.

The interesting bloom-like spots in the foliage of the trees continue over the top edge.

The original painting is 6″ x 6″.

The beautiful small details can really be admired when you see them blown up to a larger scale in an art print!

Metallic Trees 12
Metallic Trees 12 features the meandering branches and roots of a large bronze tree in the center.

In the background are the more hazy details of more gnarled and winding trees.

Orbs of white light fill the whole painting, bringing to mind an imaginary world with lights twinkling in a magic wood!

There is a sense that the orbs of light are moving around, and they look like they are filtering upward and becoming smaller as they float up into the sky among the branches of the trees.

This original painting is 6″ x 6″.

The metallic color palette looks amazing at a larger scale, neutral enough to display anywhere, with a glow of gold and bronze shining from the canvas.

Metallic Trees 13
Metallic Trees 13 features a dark, knobbly tree reaching its branches into the frame from the right side of the image.

Thin winding branches stretch across from the tree trunk on the right over towards the left edge.

Bronze and gold foliage creates a canopy over the whole top edge, which hangs above the pearly white background.

This original painting is 6″ x 6″.

It’s amazing how well these small originals translate when turned into a large abstract art reproduction.

Metallic Trees 14
Metallic Trees 14 is much more on the abstract side than the representational.

The two tree-like shapes show roots growing down into the ground, and tree trunks reaching upward into masses of foliage on top.

The bright background is mostly white, and the space within the shapes of the trees is filled with light shapes that feel like they are shifting and moving.

It seems like a visual representation of the life force within all living things.

The original painting is 6″ x 6″.

This painting can be turned into an art print much larger than the original!

Note: All of these paintings can be mixed and matched to create configurations of art prints that look amazing when displayed together!
