I had an image in my mind of this tree, shimmering silver in moonlight, its gently curving branches reaching out to the sides unbelievably far and low to the ground. And this woman, in the light of the moon, framed by the embrace of the tree.

This feels like a special moment to me, a momentous night to remember. I imagine she is starting a new phase, accepting and celebrating everything that has led her to this point, while gathering up her inner strength and feeling herself fall into step with the course of her life.

I love how her shadow stretches out into the foreground.

The painting continues onto the edges of each panel, for a cool effect when they are hung beside each other.

Do you identify with the woman? How does this painting make you feel?
