My garden, as of July 2008
Gladiola.

Canna lillies & potatoes.

Borage.

Various wildflowers known to attract bees and butterflies. Our garden is constantly buzzing–as far as the insects and birds are concerned, it’s the most happening place on the whole street!

Sunflowers.

Millet.

Basil out the wazoo. I eat it daily just to try and keep up.

Kale.

Cabbages, slightly chewed upon by pests. (But still delicious.)

Green beans. (No actual beans pictured here because I just picked all the big ones.)

Strawberries. They are much smaller than last month’s, but just as abundant.

Various squashes.

Tomatoes out the wazoo.

Peppers.

I just harvested the first of this season’s potatoes and cooked them into a stew. (Delicious!) My broccoli, not pictured, is now done for the season, and was delicious. We’ve eaten most of the first round of lettuce and I’ve planted more lettuce seeds. I just made a huge pot of tomato basil pizza sauce and froze most of it for later. Mmm-mmmm!
Best. Garden. Ever!

Wow! The garden looks like a lot of fun.
yum
I am so staggeringly in awe of your garden. (Nice picture of the sunflower, too, looking up with the flash on the leaves!) I wish I could grow stuff like that; my abilities grind to a screeching halt once I try to grow anything past herbs in pots.
Thanks for the blog award!
Hi Cedar,
Read the whole thing. I don’t usually. Keep on giving us inspiration and verve for precious life stuff. Thanks,
