Verdant Tree of Life

December 7th, 2013

Here is my recent painting, “Verdant Tree of Life.” Verdant was the first word that came to mind when it was finished because the tree’s canopy is so thick and lush.

The colors in the branches and roots are also glowing with life, the rocks in the ground seem to be pulsing with warmth, and the starry sky fills the background with luminescence. Everything in this painting glows–I feel it really captures the living part of the symbolism of the Tree of Life.

As the winter solstice approaches, we can look forward to moving away from the darkest part of the year back towards longer days, more sun, warmth, and the gradual return of life. Right now I am attracted to anything that’s vibrantly alive.

Many of my Tree of Life paintings are available in print form from Fine Art America. See which prints are currently available here: tree of life prints
