Sunburst 1 and a Cali Wedding
Cedar Lee February 6th, 2012
This intensely colorful painting is titled Sunburst 1 (1 because there will be at least one more in the same size/format.)
It is painted on 3 separate panels, each 10 x 8″, for a total size of 10 x 24″. Oil on canvas, and the canvases are gallery wrapped with the painting continuing onto the 3/4″ deep edges.
I was inspired to paint the sun bursting through clouds after seeing this beautiful sky recently while driving.
Here are close-ups of the 3 panels.

I just returned home from a long weekend in beautiful San Francisco, where I attended my younger brother’s wedding at City Hall (this was just the legal part of their wedding, as they are also having a wedding celebration later this year.) Ate a lot of good food.
Huge congrats to my brother and my new sister-in-law! Aren’t they beautiful and adorable?
Here’s me being a proud sister:

Hi! I wanted to thank you for posting your various videos! They have been informative and inspirational… I’ve been drawing all my life and in the last few years have started acrylic painting… I love ‘solar radiance’ the most, and like how your moving from flowers to the universe (eclipes)– I bet you could make some knockout galaxies and nebulas! just a thought
