Share Your Art Website During Snowmageddon!

February 10th, 2010

Last week I realized that for the past month or so, the ability to post comments to my blog had been disabled because of a coding glitch.  That’s now fixed, so I want to take this opportunity to ask any painters or other visual artists out there to share the link to your website in the comments for this post.  I’m snowed in and I want to see your art!

Post away!

In the past week where I live near Baltimore, MD, we have had 2 major snowstorms for a total of somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 feet of snowfall!  (That’s on level ground, not even accounting for snowdrifts and the mountains made by the snowplows.)  It seems unlikely that I’ll ever again encounter a spectacle like this, barring a trip to Siberia, in my lifetime.

I feel privileged to experience such an extreme weather event–the fury of Mother Nature is a magnificent thing!  I’ve also never longed for springtime with more fervor.

Being trapped in our house, we’ve taken the opportunity to finish the renovations to my studio.  I’m pleased to report all the painting, as well as installation of new light fixtures, outlets and switches is done, and I am ready to officially move in to my new studio!  I’ll have pictures up as soon as I get moved in!

And my latest artwork will be photographed as soon as the weather allows (read: oh, sometime in mid-April.)

Wow, that’s crazy. The country seems to have been flipped… we’ve had mostly sunny skies in Vermont.

    Congrats on finishing the studio!

My site needs an update (gotta get all the things being posted on my blog onto the pages in the site), and I know you’ve seen it, but here it is: http://penina.net

Cedar, you are just too nice! :)
I’m excited about some figurative work that I’ve gotten to do lately. I don’t have a blog yet (but will soon!), so in the meantime, here’s a link to my fb album. Feel free to check out the other albums too! :)

    Hi Cedar,
It is unseasonably warm in British Columbia. No snowmageddon here!

Cedar, you continue to be an inspiration. I “had” an art studio of sorts after my kids moved out on their own. Then my father, Millard Wells, AWS couldn’t keep up his gallery in the Florida Keys anymore and I moved most of the prints up here to my home and I run his website from here. It’s a very slow process getting everything moved. We had a show in November at this gorgeous place called La Siesta Resort and ever since then sales have been at almost a dead stand-still.

But my husband fixed me up a spring studio out on our pool deck and so as soon as it warms up enough (I’m going to need sun and highs of at least 65) I can begin painting again.

I prefer painting to working on the website. One of the paintings (actually a couple of my fathers paintings) on his website is of Havre De Grace and then I have some slides of watercolors he did during some sailboat events there that are awesome as well.

One of my favorite things to do is to go to your website and watch you paint. I so appreciate the work it’s taken to film yourself. It’s such a gift. Thanks so much. Stay warm!

Thank you Cedar. I am glad that you are enjoying your winter wonderland and have made great use of your time indoors! I am very happy to only be jumping puddles here in Burbank, CA.
For a while it was raining in my studio, but it seems my landlord has found the problem. My wonderful new studio is seven blocks from my house. A nice walk in a wonderful area of town.
I have started on a new series of work that was inspired by the carpool lane, also called the diamond lane. Symbols have always played a role in my artwork and the diamond is rich with meaning. It started with the diamond lane, the fast lane, moving forward, a journey of togetherness, and has moved into wealth, abundance, treasure, sparkle, heritage, and grace. I find it a very hopeful image that brings recognition to the wealth we can all enjoy.
There are a few pictures of my new work in the Affirmative Blog area of my website. Please feel free to explore at http://www.artbyLisaPHC.com
